First UMC holds worship at 9am and 11am every Sunday morning.
Our 9am service is a contemporary style service with an upbeat praise band and casual atmosphere. At 11am, you'll find a traditional worship service with full choir and beautiful organ accompaniment.
You will be warmly welcomed at both services and it's our deepest prayer that you'll feel the love of Jesus through those around you and the Holy Spirit throughout worship.

What Sunday Services do you offer?We have a 9am contemporary-style service in our Fellowship Hall and an 11am traditional service in our sanctuary each Sunday.

Where are you located?We are located at 100 Green Street NE in downtown Wilson, NC.

Where should I park?Limited parking is available on Green Street. On Sunday mornings you may also park across the street in the Wilson County School Board Central Office parking lot. Our main parking area is located behind the church off of Pine St.

Where do I enter the building for Sunday Worship?Both of the main entrances in front of the church building are located within our brick courtyard. The large double doors to the right as you walk through the courtyard will bring you directly to our Sanctuary. If you pass those doors, you'll find another set of doors (also to your right) that will bring you to the hallway outside of our fellowship hall. For those parking in our back lot, take the walkway between First UMC and First Christian and enter through the first set of double doors you see on your right. Once you enter, the fellowship hall will be to your right. To get to the Sanctuary, you'll pass the fellowship hall and take a left and then an immediate right.

How should I dress?You will be warmly welcomed at both of our services no matter how you dress! We fully embrace the come as you are philosophy. However, we know first-time guests often wish to "fit the dress code." At our 9am contemporary-style worship service in the fellowship hall, you'll find all stages of attire - from jeans to pants to dresses to suits. You may even see someone in shorts or casual pants! At our 11am traditional-style worship services in the sanctuary, you'll find most people are dressed more formally in dresses, slacks, and suits.

What can I expect at your Contemporary Service?Our contemporary service begins at 9am in Asbury Fellowship Hall. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy coffee, water, and doughnuts in a casual, upbeat atmosphere. The praise band performs modern praise and worship music (with a few classics thrown in from time to time). And of course you'll hear a meaningful, relevant message from our pastor intended to connect you more closely with the Holy Spirit and strengthen your relationship with Jesus.

What can I expect at your Traditional Service?Our 11am traditional service is held in our sanctuary with full choir and organ accompaniment on faithful and beloved hymns. In this service, we recite many traditional liturgies including The Apostle' Creed, the gloria patri, and the doxology. And of course you'll hear a meaningful, relevant message from our pastor intended to connect you more closely with the Holy Spirit and strengthen your relationship with Jesus.
