Advent and Christmas
at First

First UMC is even more vibrant than usual during Advent and Christmas! We invite you to all of our Christmas season discipleship and fellowship events listed below as we prepare and anticipate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

All Friends at First (Children ages Pre-K through 5th grade) are invited to come to the church on December 3rd to help decorate the Christmas Tree in the Blackburn building during Green Street Kids (5pm to 7pm)! We will also have Children's Choir, Dinner together, and time of devotion!

As the Christmas season approaches, we are thrilled to invite everyone to the annual FUMC Christmas event on Tuesday, December 5, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Event highlights include two dinner seatings, a Christmas musical program, visits with Santa, children's activities, and a hot chocolate & coffee bar. The event is a collaboration of the FUMC UWF, Children's Council, Youth Group, and Weekday School.


Dinner tickets are on sale in the church office and weekday school office now through Dec. 3 at noon. Seating is limited so reserve your seats today! If you're unable to attend a dinner, please plan to join us for the program and children's activities. Your presence will make this celebration truly special. Let's come together to celebrate the joy and wonder of Christmas as we connect with each other and build lasting memories with our community and church family

Advent for Friends at First.png

All children through 5th grade are invited to attend Advent Lessons at First during both worship services following the Children's Message on December 3 and December 10. You will adjourn to room 206 for the remainder of the service for special lessons about the season of Advent. Parents can pick up their children when the service is over!

Calling all Middle and High Schoolers! Join us for our annual Progressive Dinner Christmas Party! Details are still being ironed out, but mark off Dec. 10 on your calendar and start looking for some crazy looking socks for our silly sock exchange! We will meet at 4:30 and let you know where ASAP!

Birthday Party for Jesus.png

On Sunday, December 10, during the Sunday School hour, all children are invited to participate in the Birthday Party for Jesus in Asbury Hall. We will enjoy fellowship, small snack, craft, and celebrating the birth of Jesus! We will collect toys for Faith Connections. Please bring an unwrapped toy to donate.

On Sunday, December 10 at 3pm, all children, young and old, are invited to meet in Asbury Hall to enjoy cookies hot chocolate, fellowship, and crafts. At 4:00pm we will begin spreading Christmas cheer by door step caroling at the homes of various members of our church.

We are so excited for our annual Christmas Concert. Once again, we will have two performances, Friday, December 15 at 7pm and Sunday, December 17 during our 11am worship hour. We hope to see you at one or both!

White Gift.png

Join us on December 17 at 5:00PM in the Sanctuary for our annual White Gift Service. Each
year we collect non perishable food items wrapped in white paper to distribute to those who are in need. During this service the congregation is invited to bring their white gifts forward and pray for those who are struggling during this Christmas season.

Come celebrate with us the birth of our Savior this Christmas Eve!
5:00PM Family Service & Children’s Christmas Pageant
Join us for a worship service of Lessons and Carols featuring a Christmas Pageant present by the children. This service will include the congregation lighting individual candles and singing, “Silent Night”.

9:00PM Candlelight Communion Service
Join us for a traditional worship service with beautiful music from our Chancel Choir, Handbell
Choir and Organ. A program of festive prelude music will begin at 8:45pm. This service will
include the congregation lighting individual candles and singing, “Silent Night”.
